So I've recentley started dating this guy chris, and I'm in high school with my brother but of course he is older and he thinks he knows chris better than me when I know all he wants is a long, deep relationship with a good girl, to treat him right. Luckily that girl was me. the other day my brother told my father all about how bad chris was and how he smokes weed and drinks. Now I'm extremely close to my mom and she knows everything like how I don't smoke weed or drink anymore, but my dad is very very strict and he's telling me I can't see chris anymore or date him. Is this right? I really really like him and chris respects that I don't drink or smoke and he's aggreed on stopping for me, but my dad still thinks I'm going to become a pot head & alcoholic even though I could care less about that stuff anymore. idk what to do. Some one gimme advice please!!!! Oh I'm 15 and he's 17

Hey sweetie well i understand your situation , your young very young ha to me at least but thats not the point. so you say ur father is strict naturally he would be because he doesnt want his lil girl hurt or put into bad situations by this guy. you say he smokes and drink and he agreed that he would stop for you. if ive learned one thing in life is a guy wont change automaticaly , the has to want to change noone can make him and if u can good job. but be true to urself what are the reason u adore this guy , make sure its wut you really want and u will accept any consequences that happens in the relationship. But dont worry about wut your parents say if u relly want to be with him then go for it , you never know this guy might change ur parents mind about him and your parents might grow to love him , but you will never know until you try . just dont regret anything. I have to agree with StillSurviving. I understand you dad's reaction, he doesn't want you to hang out with a guy the drinks and smokes weed. It's cool that he promised you to stop but you'll never know. Maybe you can invite him to your home and Chris can talk to your parents about his plans to stop drinking and smoking. I think there's a chance that your dad may change his opinion.
